Our Team

Abe Johnson grew up east of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and has dedicated his career to the pre-engineered metal building industry. He began as a general laborer on an erection crew, traveling throughout the country and gaining hands-on experience and a deep understanding of the trade. His strong work ethic and drive for excellence quickly led him to manage his own erection crew. In 2000, Abe founded Big Johnson Construction with a vision of building a company grounded in quality workmanship, strong relationships, and a commitment to doing things right. Under his leadership, BJC has continued to grow and expand its capabilities. Abe also serves on various advisory boards and councils, contributing his experience and expertise in a variety of capacities.

As a Colorado native and graduate of the University of Northern Colorado, Trevor brings nearly 25 years of experience in the pre-engineered metal building industry. Throughout his career, he has gained experience across multiple areas of the industry, including serving as a Project Manager for a regional building manufacturer and a District Sales Manager for a national building component vendor. This experience gives Trevor a well-rounded understanding of the building process, from proposing and selling projects to managing them through completion. His industry knowledge allows him to anticipate common challenges, coordinate effectively, and help customers save both time and money throughout the pre-engineered building process.

Grayson Johnson has been with Big Johnson Construction for three years, gaining hands-on field experience before moving into his current roles as Project Engineer and Superintendent. His field background gives him a practical understanding of what it takes to successfully execute a project from the ground up. Grayson focuses on project planning, coordinating materials, communication, and expectations to keep projects running smoothly. He also oversees select erection and General Contracting projects and holds an OSHA 30 certification. Outside of work, Grayson enjoys trail riding, spending time in the mountains, golfing, and hunting.

Jason Harding has been with Big Johnson Construction for two years and brings 29 years of experience in the construction industry. As a Senior Project Manager and Superintendent, Jason manages crews across the country while overseeing local ground-up projects. His experience spans a wide range of construction, including steel buildings, pole barns, homes, grain bins, grain elevators, concrete foundations, and flatwork. He has worked on projects ranging from banks and CDOT facilities to office buildings, airplane hangars, and agricultural buildings. Outside of work, Jason enjoys golfing, camping, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Arturo Maltos-Garcia joined Big Johnson Construction in the fall of 2026, bringing over a decade of hands-on construction experience. Since 2013, he has worked in various trades, including roofing, carpentry, concrete finishing, masonry, and steel building erection. His field experience supports his role in jobsite safety, where he helps train new hires and ensures BJC crews have the proper equipment, training, and preparation to work safely. Outside of work, Arturo enjoys spending time with his wife and children, playing and coaching baseball, reading, learning, and making the most of life.

Shanda Hall has been with Big Johnson Construction since January 2019 and brings 46 years of experience in accounting, business administration, and secretarial roles. Her background spans several industries, including insurance, education, church administration, and construction. At BJC, Shanda manages accounts receivable and payable, payroll, sales tax, and vehicle registrations, helping keep the company’s financial and administrative operations running smoothly. Outside of work, Shanda has been married to her high school sweetheart for 45 years. Together, they have two children and six grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and serving in various ministries at her local church.
